Press Release: VietAmCham to Hold Inaugural Reception in Arlington, Virginia For Immediate Release August 21, 2009 Falls Church, VA - The Vietnamese American National Chamber of Commerce (“VietAmCham”) will be holding its Inaugural Reception on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Ballroom of the Westin Arlington Gateway, Arlington, Virginia. The highly anticipated official debut of VietAmCham follows months of intense groundwork building. Interest in VietAmCham has swelled as the economy experiences bumps with short-lived glimmers of hope. The three highest Vietnamese-American elected officials from both parties, Congressman Joseph Anh Cao (LA – R), Assemblyman Van Tran (CA – R), and State Representative Hubert Vo (TX – D), warmly welcomed the creation of VietAmCham and joined hands to serve as the chamber’s honorary co-chairs. “In these hard economic times, investment in the expansion of business owners' networks is most crucial,” says Lieu Nguyen, Vice President of Safe Living Incorporated and Chairperson of VietAmCham. “VietAmCham offers these networking opportunities, other resources and training to best position its members to emerge from the recession successfully.” The Inaugural Reception that marks the debut of VietAmCham is meant to be a celebration as much as a call to action. Vietnamese Americans are an exceptionally entrepreneurial demographic. Statistically, the majority of Vietnamese Americans are business owners or independent entrepreneurs. And, as a whole, they have been successful. Over the past decade, Vietnamese American business owners’ revenues have more than doubled, and their gross receipts account for well over $25 billion annually. VietAmCham is also pleased to feature Quang X. Pham, CEO of Lathian Health, as keynote speaker for the Inaugural Reception. Mr. Pham is a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran, published author, successful entrepreneur and California 47th District congressional candidate. Elizabeth Dinh, news reporter for the Tampa, Florida ABC-affiliate WFTS, will be Master of Ceremonies. Ms. Dinh is a seasoned news reporter originally from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area and Miss Asian American Texas 2003-04. Ticketing details for VietAmCham's Inaugural Reception can be found online at http://www.VietAmCham.com. The Westin Arlington Gateway is located at 801 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22203. Cocktail reception starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner with keynote address at 7:30 p.m. About VietAmCham The Vietnamese American National Chamber of Commerce (“VietAmCham”) aims to unite Vietnamese American entrepreneurs across the country and provide an organized structure to empower the community through economic development as well as provide issue advocacy at state and federal levels.
